Butterflies provides bereavement counselling with face-to-face sessions, phone or Zoom/Teams sessions at reasonable cost for people aged 18 and over. They cover the area of Hampshire and The Isle of Wight.

They also have a Friendship Service that provides a weekly phone call to anyone who is lonely or isolated through bereavement, illness, mobility issues, lack of public transport or any other reason. A small number of bereavement groups support those who do not feel the need for counselling but are looking for social support in coming to terms with their loss.

The charity was founded in 2016, with their current management team running the charity since 2021. It started as a volunteer run and led organisation, and this has continued to be the case.
